This Cookie Notice explains how MKO KENYA LTD (“we”, “us” or “our”), trading as MKO Kenya Energies, uses cookies and similar technologies on www.mkokenya.com (the “Site”). Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which explains your rights.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your computer or phone. They let the site work, remember your choices, and help the owner understand how the site is used.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
- First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by other companies whose services we use, such as analytics providers, and can let those companies recognise your device on other websites.
Similar technologies work in comparable ways and are covered by this notice: browser storage (such as local storage), pixels or web beacons in pages and emails, and software kits in apps.
2. Your consent
- Essential: the Site sets no essential cookies.
- Analytics cookies are used only if you agree. When you first visit, a “Privacy choices” panel lets you Allow analytics or Decline. Declining is as easy as allowing, and the Site works the same either way.
- We do not treat continuing to browse, closing the panel or silence as consent.
- You can change your mind at any time through the “Privacy choices” link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent stops future use; it does not affect use before you withdrew.
3. What the Site stores in your browser
- Your choice: remembers whether you allowed or declined analytics. Browser storage item “mko-privacy-choice”, set by us. Lasts 12 months, or until you change it or clear your browser data. No consent needed — it records your choice.
- Analytics: shows us how the Site is used (pages viewed, scrolling, links to other sites), so we can improve it. Not used for advertising. Google Analytics cookies “_ga” and “_ga_3XVJM9XZJL”, first party, set by Google Analytics only after you allow it. Lasts up to 13 months. Consent needed.
- Connection error reporting (set by Cloudflare as our website host): our host asks your browser to remember where to send a report if a connection to the Site fails. This is not a cookie and holds nothing about you. It lasts up to seven days, unless renewed by a later visit. See “Website hosting and connection error reports” in our Privacy Policy.
We use no advertising, social media or session-recording cookies or tools. Cloudflare's own website analytics is switched off for this Site.
4. Third parties and transfers outside Kenya
Apart from Google Analytics, if you allow it, no other company sets cookies on the Site. Our website host, Cloudflare, processes data outside Kenya as described in the “Transfers outside Kenya” section of our Privacy Policy. Links on the Site to other websites (WhatsApp, Google Maps and, on the LPG page, totalenergies.ke) open those websites, which have their own cookie and privacy policies.
5. Other ways to control cookies
Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and stored site data in their settings. Deleting the Site's stored data also removes your privacy choice, and the panel appears again.
6. Changes
We will update this notice when the cookies we use change, and update the date at the top. If we add a new category of non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent first.
